Lyndon School Uniform & Sports Kit

The following list was agreed by a working party of parents, students and staff and most items can be bought at a wide range of shops. Items marked with an asterisk are available from suppliers listed below.

Girls' Uniform

  • Black Blazer with school badge*
  • Plain white collared blouse
  • School tie* [blue/green stripe]*Y7,Y8 &Y9 [blue/green/yellow stripe]* Y10 & Y11
  • Plain appropriate knee length school green skirt* [no splits]
  • Black school trousers
  • Neutral/black tights or black/white socks
  • Black low heeled sensible shoes suitable for wear in school, not trainers
  • Black ‘V’ neck pullover or cardigan [optional], not sweatshirts or hoodies

Boys' Uniform

  • Black blazer with school badge*
  • Plain white collared shirt
  • School tie* (blue/green stripe) Y7, Y8 & Y9 (blue/green/yellow stripe)* Y10 & Y11

Girls' Sports Kit

  • Plain white ‘Aertex’ blouse with collar
  • Black wrap over or pleated skirt

  • White training shoes
  • White or black sports socks
  • Black briefs or black cycling shorts
  • Towel

Boys' Sports Kit

  • Football/Rugby shirt
  • Short sleeved white shirt or ‘T’ shirt
  • White shorts and black shorts
  • White training shoes, white sport socks
  • Football boots
  • Football socks, black with white trim
  • Towel

For reasons of hygiene, students must change completely for P.E. and Games and not wear sports kit in normal lessons.

Jewellery

No item of jewellery should pose a health and safety risk. A watch and small stud type earrings [no more than one in each ear] are allowed. Rings, bracelets, hooped earrings and other visible loose-fitting items are not allowed. No other visible body piercing studs.
 
Haircuts
 
We request that extreme haircuts are not worn to school.  Final decisions about suitability will be made by the Head Teacher or her Deputy.

Outdoor Wear

  • Plain outdoor coat, no fur, denim, leather look, hoodies, sweatshirts or other leisure type garments are allowed.
  • Baseball caps may be allowed in very sunny weather as protective wear. This will be announced in assemblies. No caps, other headwear, scarves or gloves should be worn in lessons.
  • Where there is doubt over the suitability of any article of clothing, the Head Teacher has final responsibility for interpreting the rules.

School Bags

These should be brought to school daily. They must be of a suitable size to carry text and exercise books, pencil cases and any other equipment necessary for lessons. Small handbag styles are NOT acceptable.

Footballs

Footballs must be made from plastic, not leather, and must be carried inside bags. If a school bag is not available to carry the ball, then it must be carried inside a carrier bag.

Girls' Trousers: Notes

Girls may wear trousers all year round. Please observe the following guidance:

  • Trousers should be of smart, business-like/office appearance.
  • Not tight fitting, not hipster or any other “fashionable, in vogue” deviation from the above.
  • Not made of denim or similar “jean style” fabric.
  • No patterns, embroidery, or external combat style pockets, metal belts, etc.
If in doubt please obtain approval. Your child’s form tutor will be pleased to confirm if they are suitable or not. The Headteacher will have the final responsibility.
